Job Summary

The Payroll Clerk will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely payroll records for all Federal Bank employees. You'll work closely with the Human Resources department to process payroll data, calculate deductions, and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.

This role requires a highly organized individual with a strong understanding of numbers and a meticulous attention to detail. Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll data, including salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure timely updates
  • Calculate and withhold taxes according to federal and state regulations
  • Generate payslips and ensure their timely distribution to employees (electronic or physical)
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and government agencies (if applicable)
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate any discrepancies
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of new employees in the payroll system
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations affecting payroll processing
  • Perform other payroll-related tasks as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a payroll or accounting role (or demonstrably relevant experience)
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and payroll procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel is essential) and payroll software (experience with specific software a plus)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
