Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing remote team. You will be responsible for a broad range of accounting tasks, including managing financial accounts, preparing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to accounting regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial accounts
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable
• Prepare and process accounting entries for various financial transactions
• Close out financial accounts at the end of each accounting period
• Ensure compliance with all accounting regulations and reporting requirements
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and mitigate financial risks
• Prepare management reports and presentations to communicate financial information effectively
• Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, etc.) to ensure efficient financial processes

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role (or relevant postgraduate studies for exceptional candidates)
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Indian accounting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload efficiently
• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Suite preferred)
